Imagine That!

When we arrived in Jamaica August 2008, we fell in love with our students. I can't tell you one day in those four years that we wanted to bop them on the head. They were just so pleasant, anxious to learn, warm, loved to come to the house, treated Renee so very special and the list goes on and on. We fell in love with them the first day!

Four years of teaching and loving, mentoring and guiding was so worth it. Each graduation we were of course thrilled for them to move on, but Denny's line every graduation time was I think I am gonna flunk you so that you can't graduate! We were so selfish! We didn't want to lose them in our every day life.

This past year the college made a decision to join the national calendar for graduation exercises and move it from May to November. When our students finished their classes this past summer it was like we were leaving the country without closure when we left in June. We hadn't seen our graduates walk the line. We gave them our gifts before we left but it just didn't seem complete. We wished them well and told them to think of us in November as we would be in the states, and we would be thinking of them on graduation day.

Little did we ever realize that God had something up his sleeve! A couple of months ago Denny received an invitation from the National Superintendent who is also the Director of the College to be the Graduation Speaker for Graduation. To say that we were surprised is an understatement. All we could do was cry tears of joy. Denny was going to be able to see his students again and to top it all off he was going to be the speaker for people he has poured so much of his life into. God is so good.

A church here in PA paid for his airline ticket and another family paid for his hotel stay for three nights. It seemed as though God was putting all the pieces together. Renee and I felt jealous of daddy but we were more than thrilled for this honor.

I hav received all kinds of messages stating that what he delivered that day was perfect for the class and God was honored. We are so grateful.

The superintendent presented Denny with a gorgeous plaque. We will hang it with much gratitude for this expression of love.
