We were travelling back home from a preaching service and got hungry. Sometimes instead of fast food we may look for a roadside stop and strike it rich or strike it poor! We have hit both! On this particular Sunday we stopped at a little Mexican place. You know it is a small town restaurant when everyone looks up as you walk in the door and you can see the wheels spinning as the look on their face says, "I wonder where them there folks are from...I never did see them before around these here parts!"
After our meal we were so happy we had stopped. The food was terrific! It was authentic Mexican and of course anytime we get to use our Spanish in talking to the waitress we are happy. Something else got my eye though as we were waiting for tacos and enchiladas...the plant trailing the ceiling. It was so beautiful although I knew it was only a simple philodendrun plant. nothing fancy...but oh so pretty.
Then I started to wonder....with all these beautiful plant streamers there must be one huge mama plant somewhere around here! It was quite a small restaurant so it didn't take long to find the potted plant! Sitting in a corner, just doing its thing....taking in oxygen, water and being protected from the elements, it was just doing what it was designed to do! Lesson learned from a plant.
